About Epic Cast
Epic Cast is a bourbon whiskey inspired daydream. The dreamers, Eric Ramsey and Kyle Knudten sat on a beach once, reviewing the latest footage from a day chasing Bones on Mangrove Cay. Our guide that day was sharing a Kalik with us and commenting on how much he liked our footage and asking what it would take to get him setup with a video.
this same guide was regarded as one of the very best on the island. We just happened upon him on a DIY trip that was mostly casting and not enough catching. He saved that particular trip. When we asked him for a card so we could rebook for next year, he went to his vehicle where he proceeded to rip out a page of his cars owners manual and wrote down his information. Wow.
We shipped this guide business cards, a simple Logo and shared a link to the video footage we posted. this guide credited these things for keeping his business going during Covid. There you have it. We knew we could help the small business types that dominated the Fishing world and make an excuse for us to travel and fish. What could be better.

Hello, my name is Kyle Knudeton. I'm the other half of Epic Cast. I am a life long outdoorsman. Where Eric was solely concentrated on his fishing, I tend to dip my toes in everything! If there is an outdoors sport I can join, I'm in. I'm an avid biker. Mountain bike, road bikes and touring. I do a lot of hiking and camping. Sometimes with Eric and other with the old fam damily. My wife and kids all enjoy sharing my adventures. have been fishing, hiking, kayaking and biking since I was since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
I have always been a fan of the water. I am an avid kayaker and once I joined Eric on a Salt Water Bonefish trip, its fair to say I've become addicted to Fly Fishing and the adventures that ensue. Eric and I met in college but our adventures started later in life once he returned form his Montana adventure.
I work 9 - 5 as a Principle Engineer at a prestigious Engineering Firm. I may be an engineer but when it comes to fishing and filming, that's my passion. Eric and I use a multitude of gear for our adventures. Especially with the filming. I seemed to have found my specialty with the Drones. I have been a certified Drone Pilot for 5 years. I have several drones that provide 4K and 6K filming. I have found that my drone footage added to the standard filming we do on our trips and for clients is the cherry on top so to say. I will provide you and your business with a view of your day you could not otherwise achieve. together Eric and I intend to knock your socks off with stunning footage and create a video that you will be excited with friends, family and clients alike!

Hello, my name is Eric Ramsey. I'm one half of Epic Cast. I am a life long fisherman. I have been fishing since I was 6. Fly fishing for nearly 30 years now. Much of that time I called Montana's fabled waters, home. I have worked in the Fly Fishing industry for the better part of my professional life. Fishing has been a constant through my life. Bad times and good alike.
My professional carrier in the Fishing Industry began like most, working in a small fly shop. Teaching fly fishing and helping customers get the gear they needed. From there I was fortunate enough to catch the attention of the Orvis company. A great experience until they sent me to Montana after a yearly meeting in Cody Wyoming. Montana was it for me, I sent my info to the R.L. Winston Rod Company and snagged a job. . Later, I joined Winston's legendary "Bamboo Boys" under Master Craftsman Glenn Brackett. First apprenticing for four years before launching my own company producing high quality split bamboo quad rods. A small nitch to be sure but a passion that allowed me to live and fish in heavan...Montana.
My time at Winston was, Epic. I intended to run a new reel program but that fell through. So I worked in the main shop building glass, graphite and boron rods. Later, I joined Winston's legendary "Bamboo Boys" under Master Craftsman Glenn Brackett. I spent our years in an apprenticeship before launching my own company when the big upheaval came to our bamboo shop. I was lucky enough to have an instant following building compound taper "Quad Split Bamboo Rods" A small neesh but I found my home and it allowed me to live and fish in heavan.... Montana.
During my time in Montana, I also spent five years managing Guest ranches and Lodges. I found that helping others enjoy the outdoors like, was just a natural fit for me. Epic Cast is a an extension of that experience. Paying the bills while aiding others that love the out of doors really is a dream come true.
For the past ten years I have worked in the Engineering field. I love what I do but I do miss the Fishing world. My buddy Kyle, like me, loves adventure. We have been traveling to exotic and remote destinations chasing everything from wild rainbows in Montana to big bones in the Bahamas.
